Talk on Climate Change

As a part of the Arts Fission’s arts education outreach event titled ARTS & THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT – A CLIMATE CHANGE INITIATIVE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE at the Tanglin Trust School, the students were introduced to the issues of climate change, this being a global concern and a topic widely spoken by the public. Dr Srivatsan, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at TMSI, gave a talk on climate change to about 400 students of Year 4 and Year 5 of the Tanglin School on the 16 and 18 of March 2009.

The students showed lot of interest in getting to know more about climate change and participated very well in a lively discussion during the talk. They had good background knowledge of the issues of climate change and were very keen on saving the polar bear and penguins and wanted lots of ice to go skiing and skating!!

A younger generation, likely to show more serious interest in combating climate change, is very certainly budding !!
