NUS President’s Visit to S2S

 

CRISP and TMSI had the honour of hosting NUS President, Prof Tan Chorh Chuan to their new shared premises at S2S on 7 August 2009.  Mr Kwoh Leong Kwoh, Director of CRISP, Prof Peter Ng, Director of TMSI, NUS Special Advisor, Prof Lui Pao Chen and senior researchers from both institutes were present to receive Prof Tan.  Mr Kwoh and Prof Ng jointly briefed the Prof Tan on their respective institutes, the background of S2S Building, their research projects and achievements.

After the presentation, Prof Tan was shown around the facilities namely to the display gallery, the laboratories, CRISP ground station processing room and roof-top where the new 8.5m antenna is located.  At the various labs, Prof Tan had the opportunity to discuss with the researchers about the current projects they are working on.

The tour was followed by an open discussion with all present on future research plans; collaboration and opportunities where both institutes can jointly pool their resources.


The visit was rounded up with a presentation a satellite image of Kent Ridge campus to Prof Tan.
