Dr Elizabeth Taylor heads a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Research Fellows, full-time Research Engineers, Adjunct Research Associates from various institutions in Singapore, and NUS Research Scholars and students. We believe that interaction among cross-disciplinary teams helps to enhance productivity and creativity with biologists, physical scientists and engineers bringing diverse and complementary expertise to problems that are often outside any one traditional academic discipline.

Kian Peen graduated in 2005 from the National University of Singapore with an honors degree in Electrical Engineering. He has been with MMRL since July 2005. He is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Engineering on the subject of Bubble acoustics with a particular interest in the acoustic resonance of artificial bubble constructs using both acoustic signal processing techniques and computer imaging to examine this phenomenon. In addition, Kian Peen has a keen interest in embedded systems design and his research with MMRL focuses mainly on Biometic SONAR systems. Kian Peen specialises in several softwares such as LabVIEW, Matlab, C++, assembly languages and others.

Off work, Kian Peen enjoys travelling and sightseeing overseas. An independant backpacker, he tries to travel off the beaten path, meeting locals and other fellow backpackers along the way. Kian Peen is also an aspiring photographer whom enjoys taking photos of people, scenery and animals. He needs a decent digital SRL camera though. He hopes to travel the world one day with a camera in hand and not having to worry about travel expenses.

During his free time, Kian Peen also enjoys going to the movies, meeting up with friends for food and drinks.
