The Dolphin Study Group (DSG) was founded in May 1995 within the
Zoology Department at the National University of Singapore. In 1996,
the Zoology Department and the Botany Department merged into the
Department of Biological Sciences. And in January 1997, the DSG was
included into the newly formed Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI).
In 2005, the DSG was renamed to Marine Mammal Research Laboratory.
