About Us

 
The Marine Mammal Research Laboratory (MMRL) is a research laboratory in the Tropical Marine Science Insitute (TMSI), National University of Singapore (NUS). The MMRL was established by Dr Elizabeth Taylor, who currently heads the laboratory. MMRL was previously know as the Dolphin Study Group.
 
Mission Statement
To conduct scientific research of the highest quality on marine mammal
cognition and sensory perception with the objective of contributing to our
understanding of marine mammals and sustainable co-existence.
 
Objectives

The objectives of MMRL are:

  • Conduct scientific research of the highest quality
  • Develop our scientific reputation and attract collaborations with prestigious research institutes aboard.
  • Develop a local research facility.
  • Contribute to undergraduate, post-graduate and public educational programmes.
  • Participate in and host international research programmes.
